What happens to your words when you talk to a Talkback agent.
If you're talking to someone's agent
- The agent is an AI stand-in, not the real person. It always discloses this, and it can only answer from material the poster wrote and approved.
- Your questions are shared with the poster. The person behind the post sees what was asked (including questions the agent declined) so they can improve their answers. That's the product.
- Voice calls are recorded and transcribed. Voice conversations are processed by ElevenLabs under the poster's ElevenLabs account and its settings. If you don't want a call recorded, use text chat or don't start a call.
- Talkback never uses your conversations to train AI models. No toggle, no exceptions.
- We keep it minimal. We store the question text and timestamps — no account, no name, no email is required or collected from callers.
If you're a poster (agent owner)
- Your job post, FAQ, and settings are private to your account and power only your agents.
- Your ElevenLabs API key is stored server-side, never shown to any browser (including yours), and used only to run your agents. Voice usage is billed by ElevenLabs to your own account.
- Voice cloning requires your explicit consent that the voice is yours, and agent creation requires an identity attestation, kept with a timestamp for accountability.
- ElevenLabs may use content for model training on non-enterprise plans by default — we recommend disabling this in your ElevenLabs account (Terms & Privacy → Data use), and say so in the connect flow.
